Charitable Donations

Amounts less than $200 should not be used until they total more than $200. Donations can be carried forward up to five years, and the donations over $200 get a credit of 40% rather than the 22% for the first $200. Be aware of organizations that are unable to provide you with a proper charitable donation contribution receipt. Legitimate receipts will have a CRA Registration Number.
